Sex and the City

This is AnnaSophia Robb, and you might want to memorise this name now.
The 18-year-old is the titular heroine of CW's The Carrie Diaries, and she's going to be big.
She's the youngster charged with playing young Carrie Bradshaw.
Filling those shoes: The first glimpse of Anna Sophia Robb as a young Carrie Bradshaw on the set of the Sex and the City prequel in New York today
This means, of course, she's taking on the weighty mantle of the character brought to life by Sarah Jessica Parker so vividly
Even Carrie mark one's famous outrageous hats are a heavy enough burden for such a young star.
Corkscrew curls: Anna's hair is just like Carrie's curly mane, in the original series she insisted that her wild hair was what separated her from other 'tame' women
Merchandising potential: Carrie wore a necklace emblazoned with her name in the original, and it seems like a bag takes that place

The young starlet looks just like a young Carrie, all corkscrew curls, shiny shoes, eclectic clothing and a very key factor, a bit clumsy.
The original: Sarah Jessica Parker and Willie Garson, who played Sanford

In one shot, the actress has tripped over in a obvious nod to the opening sequence of the cult series when Parker's Carrie has her fashionista poise destroyed when a bus splashing her pink tutu.
This incongruity between the character's stylish wardrobe, sharp quips and then her clumsiness and disastrous relationships was key to the long-running series, which has spawned two feature films.
Parker, who turns 48 tomorrow, was often called on to perform physical comedy, Carrie was always tripping over in exclusive restaurants yet managed to power walk in 5inch heels.

She won't be expected to have reached the fashion maturity of Carrie from the original HBO series given her tender years.
The series, which is to be helmed by Gossip Girl's Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, Len Goldstein and the writer behind the Carrie novels, Candace Bushnell, will follow our heroine from high school to her early days as a writer in New York.
